This is a picture of my 14 year-old grandson Chris Powell and his 1949 Bantam tractor. It was made in Indianapolis, Indiana, by the Bantam Manufacturing Company. It has a Briggs & Stratton engine with one speed forward and one reverse. The entire front grille is cast iron.

I purchased it at auction about 25 years ago. My youngest daughter drove it some, then we stored it. About six years ago Chris wanted it, so we restored it.

Chris has taken it to many shows in Illinois and Indiana the past six years, getting lots of attention and also winning some tractor rodeos, competing with big tractors.
