Timing on an Edwards engine

Flywheel Forum

| May 2009

I am in need of information on how to set the crank and cam gears for timing on an Edwards gas engine, serial number 20350. The crank and cam gears are so badly pitted that I cannot identify any timing marks. My original manual is not much help.

I have sand blasted the complete engine and beefed up the main bearing caps, which were broken, and let the gears jump time. I saw the engine run before I purchased it. Thank you for any help.
