Eureka drag saw engine

| December/January 2009

I just acquired this engine and know next to nothing about it. All I know is that it’s an air-cooled, 2-stroke drag saw engine made in Eureka, Calif. As the picture shows, the saw part is missing, but it does run. The engine’s patent number indicates it was made around 1945, which is about the time chainsaws were first being made. I don’t think many of these engines were made, and I’ve never seen another one.

If anyone out there knows anything more about this engine, feel free to contact me.

I recently started the restoration of a tiller steering horseless carriage that has this engine in it. This post is old and I do not know if Don still has the engine or any more information about it, but i would love to find out. Please contact me at minfanti@verizon.net
