This month we have an unusual item! We received a letter from Vincent Marshall at Holland & Associates, 5123 Virginia Way, Suite C-21, Brentwood, TN 37027. Mr. Marshall has two sets of diesel generators he would like to donate to a museum. The specifics are: Generator #1: O'Brien Synchronous Generator serial #6-1931, Diesel #1 General Motors Cleveland Design Division, model 16-567B, #93012, 1440 HP, 720 rpm. Generator #2: Elliot Company, #1623, Diesel#2 General Motors Electro Motive Division, model 16-567-C#57-C-166. Mr. Marshall can be reached at 615-221-9022; fax number is 615-221-9672. If these are items of interest to a museum you're associated with, please contact Mr. Marshall for additional details.

This is the issue in which we publish our index for the previous year. Thanks to a timely suggestion from a subscriber, we have put the index position in bold and all capitals in our Table of Contents, for ease in finding it. We thank Don Siefker, who has indexed all the GEM issues from 1966 to the present, for his continuing fine work! It is very useful to all of us who have a need to find articles or pictures of a particular subject in a past issue.

As we write this letter, the deadline for the Steam and Gas Engine Show Directory is about to pass, and we hope that by the time you read this letter all of you who are show contacts have sent in your listings. If you've missed out, or are starting up a new show, write to us any time of year, and we'll see that you are contacted for the next year.

Again this year, we're offering the Directory at an 'early bird' price for those of you who send in your money before February 15. This is a big help to us, since we can send the Directories out by bulk mail, and we pass the savings in postage on to you. See the ad on the inside front cover for details.
