August is here, already! As I write this in early June, the air is thick with the excitement of children just out of school, and now in many places as you read this they'll be getting ready to go back! Let's hope all the kids, young and old, have enjoyed a carefree and safe summer of engine shows and gatherings.

August also means 'dog days,' those hot, still days when it seems the best thing to do is find a fan or an air conditioner and flop down in front of it for the duration. If that's what you're inclined to do, you might want to take a look through our newest book catalog first, to make sure you have something fascinating to read while you're hiding from the heat.

If you're out and about, however, keep your eyes open for our own Judy Whiteside, who will be doing some traveling this summer, including a return trip to the big expo at Ankeny, Iowa, and a first-time visit to the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion at Mt. Pleasant. She's becoming quite a globetrotter for the hobby!

And now, since the 1970s are making a comeback, I'll sign off by saying, 'Stay cool!,' and leave it to you to determine what I mean by that.
