In memorium: Eugene L. Abernathy

| September 2009

Gas engine collector Eugene L. Abernathey, 59, Brandon, Iowa, passed away in April following a sudden illness.

Gene owned and operated Abernathey Auto with his wife of 40 years, Deanna, for 28 years and was a Brandon volunteer fireman for 29 years.

He enjoyed racing stock cars, truck pulling and watching NASCAR racing. He also loved antique gas engines, antique tractors, going to swap meets and auctions, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Word of his passing was sent to GEM by friend and fellow collector Dick Christansen, Newell, Iowa.
