We got a call the other day from a New England collector about a show his club is planning. The group had talked about how nice it would be to have a small handout for spectators, which would answer the most frequently asked questions at an engine show. The club was enthusiastic about this idea, and phoned us to learn whether such an item might be available and for sale. We were intrigued by the concept, and would be happy to put such a Question and Answer sheet together for clubs to reproduce on their own as they see fit. If you have some ideas about this, please write to me, and we'll see if we can assemble a list that would be useful to most clubs.
I have heard 'around the office' that we get a fair amount of phone calls from people who would like to get their magazines faster, and who get upset when a neighbor gets his first. Please remember that we send all the magazines on the same day, and that there are numerous U. S. Postal Service reasons why delivery varies slightly. The only consolation we can offer is the availability of First Class service, for which we must charge a hefty amount (see rates on this page). There is nothing else we can do except ask you to be patient with your postman!
As I write this, we are getting our annual Show Directory packets ready to mail to show contacts. See the notice on page 36 for shows we haven't heard from, in case you represent one of them.
Also, please note that we will be printing another all new Collectors' Network this spring, and the first ad for listings appears in this issue on page 31. The ad will appear in three issues, and the deadline will be February 15 as last year. This time, there will be advertising space available, and a limited number of the booklets will be sold to other subscribers.
