Austin Elizabethtown, Illinois 62931
In August 1989 I had a health problem, was disabled and retired from my job. So I sold all of my old engines. But I began to get better after surgery. Then I didn't have any engines and that almost made me sick again! At that time, I remembered I had started on a model engine a year or two before. Well, I dug out what I had and this is what I found: an old brake master cylinder from some kind of heavy equipment, a governor from an old crank-type record player, two old V pulleys from two old automatic washing machines and two right angle gears from a tachometer unit removed from a Deutz diesel engine. Wait a minute! I said I was going to make this story short! Anyway, this is what I came up with.
I plan to blueprint this engine and put it in GEM at a later time.
Oh, by the way, the 'Austin' engine runs very well.
