The brass plate on this United gas engine reads:
United Engine Company, Lansing Michigan USA. Type A, 2 HP, Ser.
No. 117429
Above is a ‘before’ photo, taken when I acquired the
engine. I restored it to this condition in the summer of ’98. I
bought the engine very near where I live, in 1994. The truck for
the engine I bought from an engine show in Saegertown,
Pennsylvania, at the summer show of 1998. The wood for the truck
and tool box is curly maple. The engine was almost complete except
for the missing muffler. The engine starts easily and runs
well.
