The 19th Annual Antique Farm Engine & Tractor Assoc. Show

| December/January 2000

18230 S. E. 315th Street, Auburn, Washington 98092

Advertised as, 'The Same Great Show at a New Location,' the Antique Farm Engine and Tractor Club's 19th annual show was held on July 8 & 9, 2000, at the Mason County Fairgrounds in Shelton, Washington, rather than at the Roy Rodeo Grounds where it had been held for many previous years. The show, in fact, was bigger, better and well-received by everyone who attended. Under the direction of show chairman Dale Fye and his wife, Teresa, everything flowed smoothly and included many new features as well as the well-loved ones that draw about 5,000 spectators every year as well as about 250 exhibitors.

Extremely popular was the tractor pull with both participants and spectators. The club provided a new sled, and two steam donkeys were provided by Lew Parsons and Mike Willig. The tractor pull was organized by Nick and Judy Huff and Derrell Cole. There were many volunteers involved as well.

There were at least 100 participants in the tractor parade, 31 cars and trucks and bikes on display, as well as at least a hundred stationary engines on the grounds, and a large swap meet area. New this year was Glen Pritchard's children mover ride, and a remote control boat display, model trains, military vehicles, a people-mover hay wagon, demonstrations, lots of entertainment, an artist and author in residence, and crafts, crafts, crafts. There was also lots of food-something for everyone.

The club's 20th annual show will be held at the Mason County Fairgrounds in Shelton, Washington on July 13 & 14, 2001. If you have questions about the show, contact Dale Fye, Show Manager at 360-426-0403. We're sure it will be as big a success as the 19th show was in 2000.
