On May 3, 4 and 5, 1996 the Oklahoma Steam Threshing and Gas Engine Association, Inc. held their 41st annual show in Pawnee, Oklahoma.

Though at the time the area was already in need of rain, members, exhibitors and friends came to enjoy the weekend with hopes for three days of good weather and only memories of the unforgiving rains of the past few years.

Roads on the grounds had been buildup, with ample drainage, as just part of an extra effort to improve the showgrounds. The gas engine area and flea market area were overflowing, along with a fine lineup of Minneapolis-Molines in the featured equipment row.

Amos Rixmann was once again kept busy testing steam engines, Oil Pulls and gas tractors on the Prony Brake. Road grading, an operational steam winch, threshing, corn grinding, blacksmithing, daily parades, rope making and the sawmill were among the other displays and activities. Shown with the steam engines was Kenneth Sullivan's 1914 50 HP Case which was the featured engine of the show.

The 1997 reunion will be held May 2, 3, 4 and will feature Ivan Burn's Advance-Rumely, as well as equipment of the Allis Chalmers and Delco gas engines.
