Well, Hello Folks!
As I was going though my history book of the branches, I noted a misprint on our organization. It should have read that it was started as the Ag Hall at Bonner Springs, Kansas, as the Missouri and Kansas Ag Hall Branch #19. In fact, the branch voted to accept my name of Mo-Kan Ag Hall Branch #19 of the EDGE&TA Association. This was in 1972.
First off we sure wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the folks of Branch #11 that had such loss in the tornado. We heard there were some big losses. But, most of all, we are glad there was no loss of life.
As many of you are looking to attend the National meeting and show at Win-field, Kansas, Branch #11 of the EDGE&TA Association, August 16, 17, & 18, 1991, just southeast of Wichita, Kansas, it's easy to get to. Don't forget your vote-in for your choice of officers. I am sure you all have received the schedule of nominees.
Well, now to the old metal people. As I have been, you have been picking it up and fixing it up to show your proud possession, and your skills of restoration. I have seen some real good work on engines, tractors, and you name it. I saw old Gregory Hardy of Branch #13 pull a trailer from the West Coast to Branch #16 National meet at Springfield, Missouri with the most beautiful two-cylinder marine engine on' it. He even built the trailer special for the engine. Now that is dedication! Just like Orin Sanders from #28, West Plains, Missouri and Bennie Warren from #32, Clarksville, Arkansas- they pull tractors 300, 400 and 500 miles, and think nothing of it.
Well, in closing I want to welcome the folks from Virginia Beach #35, on the East Coast, as our newest Branch. Glad to have you folks!
Hope to see many of you this summer and at the National at Winfield, Kansas 16,17,18 of August!
