Recognize this corn planter?

My friend, Bill Shields, Nampa, Idaho, found this corn planter in Missouri on a recent trip. He would like to have it identified. The castings are marked with numbers but no letters. The drive wheels are just flat iron with spokes riveted on. It is a neat piece, but who made it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Maybe the design on the lid tells something.
