This is our 30th anniversary here at E. T. A. E. A. We expect
this to be one of our biggest and best shows, so pack your bags and
come on down to East Tennessee for a great three-day show.

We’re located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
The weather here in June is great! Our display area is partially in
the shade of giant pine trees, and in the open sun. We will have
plenty of good food: East Tennessee ham, beans and cornbread, and
the usual city food!

In the year 2000 we had approximately 100 exhibits and probably
over 200 engines. This year, 2001, we’re also going to have
antique tractors. We’ll have engines from Maytags to 70 HP
Bessemers. We have 15 HP Patton Bros., 25 HP Acme, 15 HP Oil City
Boiler Works, 20 HP Superior, 30 HP sideshaft Bessemer, 10 HP Acme,
15 HP J. P. Berry, Crosley Otto HP sideshaft, 15 HP Schleicher,
Schumm & Company, plus that huge 70 HP Bessemer. All these
engines will be running during the show. We will also have many
rare smaller engines. We will have vendors ready to buy, sell, or
trade.

We have over 25 acres of show ground in the beautiful East
Tennessee mountains, which is part of the Cherokee National Forest.
We have good camping areas with water and electricity on site, and
shower and restroom facilities on the show grounds.

Our show dates will be Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, June 7,
8, and 9. On Saturday evening everyone will be invited to go to Doe
River Gorge for a train ride through some of the most beautiful
mountain country in the world.

We are about six miles out of Johnson City, mile south of
Highway 361, and the Laurels Recreation area on Sciota Road, and
six miles north of Unicoi off Highway 107.

We would like to take this opportunity to mention our charter
members on our 30th anniversary. Many ‘THANKS’ to these
people for their contributions to the club: Geoff Hutchings, Ben
Fox, Gary White, Don Hughes, Dennis Hughes, Farrell Hughes, Jerome
Christian, Tom Wise, and Jim Combs.

Plan now to attend the 30th annual East Tennessee Crank-Up for a
cool mountain get together with engines, tractors, collectors and
their friends!
