We have a daughter who lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, so
when I told my wife that Branch 43 (which is located in that area)
would have their swap meet in May, she was ready to go! Harry and
Mildred Kloppenburg and Betty and I left Friday night after work.
On Saturday morning, as the women went shopping, Harry and I left
for Granbury, Texas, home of Branch 43.
The show grounds for Branch 43 is the Granbury Light Plant. The
plant, built in 1923 to replace an older plant, was used
continuously until 1955. Three diesel engines, original to the
plant, are on display. During the fall show all three will run
periodically throughout the show. It was good to meet Larry Parker,
president, and Terrie Parker, secretary/treasurer, and the other
members of Branch 43.
We would like to extend a welcome to Branch 51 and Branch 52.
