As we move into the month of June, show season gets into full swing, so be sure to keep your eyes on our Coming Events section in the next couple of issues! Our 1991 Show Directory is almost sold out for this year, so if you are planning on getting one, you'd better act quickly!

We get a lot of letters from our subscribers-some good, and occasionally, some not so good. Recently, we received a complaint about a story-you might say that one man's dream was another's nightmare. Yes, we realize that not every restoration is true to the meaning of the word, but then, no one individual's vision of life is exactly the same as another's.

We think that's what makes GEM so great-the diversity of its readership, and thus its authors. As publishers, we don't seek to prescribe for our readers, but rather to enable them to speak with each other. So, whether you're a professional man with a huge collection of beautifully restored engines you house in a personal museum, or a teenager who's just purchased his first Briggs & Stratton at a show he attended by mistake, or one of the many, many collectors who fall somewhere in between, GEM wants to be the magazine for you.
