Mid-Iowa Antique Power Association Holds First Show

The Mid-Iowa Antique Power Association held its first show on August 3 and 4, 1985 at Marshall-town Community College in Marshall town, Iowa. The estimated attendance at the event was 5000 people during the two-day show.

Features of the show included an antique plowing contest with 25 contestants, antique tractor pull with approximately 75 contestants, two threshing machines operating with steam power on one. Displays included the usual line up of antique tractors and machinery. A highlight of the gas engine display was a completely reconditioned 6 HP Lennox engine and pump jacks. The tractor display included an Aultman-Taylor Threshing Tractor, Waterloo Boy, and a Mogul in addition to approximately 75 other tractors.

Present plans call for the 1986 show to be held on August 2 and 3, 1986. The 1986 show will have a special emphasis on horses and horse-drawn equipment.
