National Vice President, 3848 S. Farm Road 93, Republic, Missouri 65738

We would like to welcome Branch 75 into the National. David Linnebur, 5920 S. Web, Derby, Kansas, serves as president. Derby is just south of Wichita.

The Northeast Regional Show, hosted by Branch 35, is now history. The show was held at Chip-pokes Plantation State Park, Surry, Virginia. A very good show with lots of different equipment to see. Curtis Cook, president of Branch 35, and all the members had worked very hard getting ready for the show. They extended their southern hospitality and made us feel at home. I got to see a peanut picker in operation, a first for me. Paul and Bruce Skaisky had a peanut picker manufactured by Bent hall Machine Co., Suffolk, Virginia. It was a real treat to see this machine run. I've even got a bushel of peanuts, somewhere in Nebraska I think. I didn't think the airlines would let me carry on a bushel of raw peanuts. A very good show and thanks again to Branch 35 for hosting the Northeast Regional.

In our hobby we meet people from all walks of life. We met Steven Spahr from Pleasant Garden, North Carolina. Steven and his dad have John Deere tractors that they have restored as a hobby. Steven works for Roush Racing and serves as jack man for Mark Martin's NASCAR racing team. He goes from a machine that runs 200 mph down to a tractor that runs 6-7 mph.

We have a good hobby and we are seeing a lot of young members come in and this is good. As senior members, we need to take time to work with these younger members and teach them about our hobby so that it will continue to grow.

Everyone should be in the thick of the show season by now. Have a safe and fun time!
