As I write this article, I have just returned from a large three-day auction of the collection of Del Seuser. As you may remember, Del is past vice-president of the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association. This was a job that he held for many years and did an outstanding job in serving the National. Because of health reasons, Del and his wife chose to have an auction. The first day antiques, primitives, collectibles, and guns sold. The second day there were over 100 cars, trucks and related items to be sold. The third day tractors, steam engines, gas engines, manuals, and many parts were auctioned away.

Jim Burks, Ralph Ramsey, and I drove to Kansas Saturday afternoon after work and were there Sunday for the last day. It was like being at an engine show! We saw old friends from various shows of the Midwest and also met a lot of new friends.

Del put in a lot of hard work and many long hours getting ready for the auction. I am sure that he is glad it is over with, but at the same time, he probably had sad feelings about selling the many items he has collected over the years.

As we continue to grow, we welcome the Cluinebaug Valley Branch into the National. They meet in Waterford, Connecticut, and are planning a show for July 16, 17, and 18. It is good to have another branch in the East. We will introduce the officers in the next issue.

Remember the National Show, June 11, 12, & 13 hosted by Branch 13 in Grass Valley, California. You won't want to miss it!
