Draper and Phelps, 1919By Mike ShafferDraper and Phelps store in July 1919. Note the engines at right in the photo. In the early teens, Draper and Phelps sold farm machinery and implements from their store located at 1101 Broad St. in downtown Newcastle, Ind. What caught my eye in this photo is the line of gasoline engines on the floor. I know the front two are Uniteds, but I'm not sure about the back two. If you look very closely, you can also see a United calendar hanging on the left wall. Pictured left to right are: C.A. Phelps (co-owner), W.O. Riggs, W.L. Draper (co-owner). Contact engine enthusiast Mike Shaffer at: 9071 S. CR. 425 W., Knightstown, IN 46148-9648 638 of 638 characters shown.
