INFORMATION SOUGHT ON OLD GAS ENGINEThis picture was sent to us by John Harrigan of 15139 E. Valdemar Drive, Hacienda Heights, CA 91745. He is writing a book about the Lowe Gas Company of California. The photo comes from an 1899 company brochure with caption reading: "One of the Gas Engines that has furnished electric power for operating the Mount Lowe Railway for the past six years." While the generator was said to be a 100 HP one, Mr. Harrigan would like to know the size of the engine and its manufacturer. Any information will be gratefully received. You can also reach John Harrigan by e-mail at jnsharrigan@earthlink.net or jharri@ladwp.com. Day time phone number is 213-367-2475, fax number is 213-367-3607. 635 of 635 characters shown.
