Southeast Old Threshers' Reunion

The 1998 Southeast Old Threshers' Reunion was a huge success! With visitors from 25 states and five foreign countries, we almost met the 1996 record crowd of over 25,000. Many enjoyed the demonstrations of antique farm machinery, collies herding sheep, our many restored old buildings such as: the Reid Plantation, the old store, gas station, church, grist mill and shoe shop which were all in operation during the five-day Reunion. We held not one, but three antique tractor pulls, a lawn mower pull and a horse pull. A full-sized steam train called "The Handy Dandy" gave rides to children and grownups alike, also a petting farm proved very popular. Nashville stars such as Michael Twitty, Jett Williams, Johnny Russell and Highway 101 drew enthusiastic crowds. On Sunday, Reunion-goers enjoyed the best in blue grass gospel with the Isaacs and The Lewis Family.
