1989 is upon us, and we are preparing for the new year! Show directory mailings have gone out and the December 15 deadline will probably have passed by the time you read this. Be sure your information and ads reach us!

Recently, we received a call from Don Nelson of the Norwalk (Connecticut) Seaport Association. It seems that the group (founded in 1978 out of concern for preservation of the Norwalk area's marine heritage) has acquired the historic Sheffield Island Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1868 and is one of the east coast's largest and most interesting lighthouses-and one of very few totally open to the public.
