Some Astute Observations After Our First Year As ExhibitorsBy Karen Woffenden3 Washington Street, Brattleboro, Vermont 05301 The engine that always starts with the first "pop" at home, either won't start at all, or takes you 15 to 20 minutes to get started-just long enough to draw a dozen or so interested spectators who wander off before you get it started. Your engine runs best when strangers walk by relatively uninterested, or when it is beginning to drizzle and no one is looking. Your engine dies when the sun comes out and the spectators come by in droves, or when three guys from work stop by. They've come to their first engine show just to see your's run because you've raved so about it. You don't buy an engine at this weekend's show, because there is nothing but junk for sale, the junk is more than you can afford, and your wife told you that if you brought home one ... 807 of 850 characters shown.
