Return of a Family FarmallBy Oran SorensonRR3, Box 67, Garretson, South Dakota 57030 I've been collecting antique tractors since about 1979 when I was able to find and purchase the first tractor my grandpa purchased new in 1935, a Farmall F-12. Over the years, I've added another ten to fifteen tractors to my collection, but my favorite and a crowd's favorite-is this 1942 war-model H Farmall. This tractor has no starter, lights, or battery, and is on steel, as there was a shortage of rubber during the war years. I purchased the tractor on an auction near the Badlands of western South Dakota in the summer of 1984. There were over 150 antique tractors on the auction, but this one caught my eye. Restoration, which was done during the summer of 1985, included a complete overhaul, plus complete exterior parts and paint. I finished the paint and it barely had enough drying time before I took it to Madis... 810 of 997 characters shown.
