Coolspring Hit & Miss

The 7th annual Coolspring Hit & Miss Engine Society Show held June 18-19 was a huge success. Under cloudy, rainy and sometimes sunny skies, approximately 5,000 people enjoyed the show at the Coolspring Show Grounds. 85 exhibitors from Maryland, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania were eager to show and run their prize engines, tractors, cars and trucks. Also in the five buildings housing the Engine Collection of Dr. Paul Harvey and John Wilcox, many enjoyed watching and listening to the many engines being run.

On the grounds a cornsheller and mill were making corn meal; an old butter churn, shingle mill and homemade drag saw were being powered by gas engines. Also shown and run were a bulldozer, roller, large trucks, shovel, antique fire truck and other old equipment.
