TRI-STATE SHOW CONTINUES TO CROWBy Donald L. Siefker705 West Annie Drive Muncie, Indiana 47302 A record 1,865 gasoline engines, 227 tractors, 6 steam traction engines and two scale steam engines were brought by 855 exhibitors to the 18th Annual Antique Engine and Tractor Show sponsored by the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association, Inc. The Show was held at the Jay County Fairgrounds in Portland, Indiana on August 25-28, 1983. The 855 exhibitors came from 27 states and two provinces of Canada. The engines were in operation throughout the four days along with the saw mill, apple butter making and threshing demonstrations. A new arts and crafts display building was a popular attraction this year. You are invited to attend this engine show which continues to be one of the finest and largest of its kind in the world. 745 of 745 characters shown.
