12th ANNUAL DENTON FLY-INBy Howard McCollum, Jr.A Hercules owned by Willard Moore A 1919 8-16 IHC Tractor The 12th Annual Fly-In and Threshers Reunion, July 2, 3, 4 1982, Denton, North Carolina, was a success with a record number of both exhibitors and spectators. There were approximately 500 exhibitors of gas, steam and antique tractors for the three-day event. The demonstrations of threshing with horse-power, steam power and oil power along with sawmilling, shingle mill, rock crushing and combining with a 1928 Caterpillar Combine with a 12' header, along with other demonstrations are done on schedule. There are continuous operations of the "Moonshine Still", gas engines, and the display of steam engines in the exhibition building. A veneer lathe with a 80HP Fairbanks Morse Diesel for power will be added to the list of demonstrations this year.... 820 of 1178 characters shown.
