41/3/3A and B: Front and side view of the Douglas engine.

I am interested in getting information on a Douglas engine I
have acquired. What was it used for? Where was it made? It is a
2-cylinder opposed engine. It has a hand crank, and the gas tank on
top is divided so it holds gas in the left side with a divider so
the right side is the oil reservoir for the oil pump. The gas mix
valve says, “made in England.” Any information would be greatly
appreciated. The serial number is 86409. Louis Wilson, Box 74, East
Calais, VT 05650; (802) 456-8768.
