In the October/November 2011 issue, we made a call to action for GEM Experts — collectors and antique gas engine researchers who have amassed knowledge about a specific company or engine.

While many of the respondents were reluctant to be considered “experts,” and preferred instead to be considered “knowledgeable,” we’ve got enough to start our list. It is growing quickly, and we hope to continue adding to it each issue until it’s large enough to warrant its own department in the magazine. Until then, you’ll be able to reference the list every issue in “Flywheel Forum.”

Don’t be modest about the knowledge you’ve acquired; the entire hobby will benefit from your expertise. Just send an email to to add your name, expertise and contact information to the list.
