The 6th annual Southeast Kansas Old Time Gas Engine and Tractor Club Show was held June 25 and 26, 1994 in Pittsburg, Kansas, at the Crawford County Historical Society Museum grounds. Featured engine this year was International Harvester. There were 70 exhibitors from four states: Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. On display were 153 gas engines and 35 antique tractors. In addition there were model steam and gas engines, a horse powered corn grinder, a stump puller, a 'Missouri Mule' hay press, operating sawmill, quilting demonstration, an operating model cotton gin and demonstration of weaving all were enjoyed by people attending the show.

For the first time a tractor rodeo was held; some of the events were wagon backing, barrel rolling, back seat driving through an obstacle course and a tractor balance beam.

Saturday evening an ice cream social sponsored by the museum was held, with entertainment by a club-sponsored country and western band, 'The Pumpkin Creek Fun Timers.'

A kiddie tractor pull was held Sunday afternoon. This year we had two groups of mountain men encamped and depicting their lifestyles. There were several flea market vendors as well as an antique spark plug display, a collection of antique speed indicators, and an antique wrench display.

A good crowd attended Saturday even though the temperature reached 102 degrees during the afternoon. Sunday morning started with a non-denominational church service after which the exhibitors began to again show and explain the items from the past, which have been restored to their original condition.

One of the nicest displays was three half scale tractors (two John Deeres and one Allis Chalmers) which operated during the show.

This 1994 show was the largest one so far for the club and was well received by both the public and the exhibitors.

If you would like to join us for the 7th annual show and take part in some friendly make-you-feel-at-home surroundings, then plan to be in Pittsburg, Kansas, on June 24 and 25, 1995.

Hope to see you there!
